На острове Рейнеке прошел масштабный субботник под романтическим названием «Остров Мечты». В ходе этого экологического мероприятия зоны отдыха острова Рейнеке были очищены от мусора и бытовых отходов. В акции принимали участие небезразличные жители Приморья, студенты и даже представители других государств (Германии и США).

После прибытия на остров волонтеры распределили между собой направления работы на наиболее популярных пляжах: Пригородное, Центральный, Ракушка и Штукино. Стихийные свалки мусорных отходов были разобраны и на их месте появились чистые пляжи и поляны. Все собранные мусорные отходы были отсортированы и вывезены на 3-х грузовиках на специальные перерабатывающие заводы для утилизации ( 350 мешков стекла, пластика и жести, а также 400 мешков других отходов).

Основной целью проведения акции было очистка острова от мусора и предотвращение возникновения свалок в будущем. Мероприятие призвано обратить внимание гостей и жителей острова на необходимость соблюдения чистоты. Природа острова очень богата, здесь есть уникальные песчаные пляжи, лес, море и люди обязаны сохранить эти богатства для будущих поколений. Немаловажным фактором, который обусловил создавшуюся ситуацию, является отсутствие на острове специально обустроенного места для сбора мусора. В рамках проекта на протяжении летнего сезона планируется провести еще несколько эко-туров, а также повторный субботник — осенью.
